Chef Kurt von Kahle Recipe of the Week

By | Videos | No Comments

A few weeks ago, I mentioned in a blog post some videos I was making for Kurt’s Kitchen’s YouTube Channel.  This is this weeks video and it’s a simple dinner anyone can make – from Kurt’s blog:

In this recipe I simply cooked prepared kebobs at Whole Foods that were already marinated. Whether you purchase prepared food or do the work yourself the benefits of steam in the oven provides moist and crispy results. For an added crispy or grill mark place the rack over the solid pan into the oven on the middle rack and set the oven on Broil with humidity. When the oven is up to temperature (I use 425˚f) place the food on the hot rack to produce grill marks.

Mark + Fatima

This past weekend I filmed Mark and Fatima’s beautiful wedding at Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA.  Seriously, it was beautiful and I can’t wait to share the wedding day highlight video with everyone.

Congrats to Mark & Fatima.

Blueberry Cherry Crumble

This is a video which I shot, edited, and created this video for Chef Kurt von Kahle’s YouTube channel where he shows how to cook a Blueberry Cherry Crumble.  It tastes just about as good as it sounds, especially with some freshly made whip cream.  Even if you don’t have access to a combi-steam oven, you can do this in a standard oven with convection and cooking for a longer cooking time.

Here is a quick video tip of the day: If you’re thinking about creating a YouTube channel or something similar but are worried about launching it – don’t be worried.  Know that you’re going to have some videos at first with only 100 views or so and that’s okay.  The more consistent you are with creating and sharing video, the wider you’ll cast your net, and those views will be coming in in no time.

Sous Vide Chicken in the Gaggenau Steam Oven

By | Video Production | No Comments

I’m working with my uncle, Chef Kurt von Kahle, on creating content for his YouTube channel.  This past Friday he released this video we made on cooking Sous Vide Chicken in the Gaggenau Steam Oven.  While I know that most of you, if not all of you, do not have access to a Gaggenau Steam Oven, you can buy a tabletop Sous Vide cooker from Amazon and make this delicious meal at home.  Trust me, it’s worth it.

Basically, sous vide is a way of cooking where you vacuum seal your food, and slow cook it in water.  Why vacuum seal it? Because that keeps the moisture trapped in.  The result is the most succulent and juicy chicken breast you’ll ever eat.

Baltimore City Young Life

One of the non-profits that I work with fairly consistently is Young Life.  This past spring, my good friend Josh Goodman with Baltimore City Young Life asked me if I’d be able to make a video for him to show at his Young Life breakfast.

As Young Life is still in somewhat early days in Baltimore City, we were hoping for the video to show what the ministry is currently doing.  He wanted to show the neighborhoods in downtown Baltimore for where they’re meeting kids and to show what the school and what an average Young Life club looks like.

Josh is faithful to the city of Baltimore and I’m glad that I was able to help create this video for him.
